Our Story

TRG Imaging is very excited to be undergoing, as part of our continued growth, a brand improvement, which includes updating all our clinics, signage, website and information packs.

Established in 2004, TRG Imaging is the leading provider of diagnostic imaging services which is achieved through:

Excellent Clinical Care-Outstanding Customer Care

Our focus is on combining innovation in technology with the leading sub-specialty skills of our 30 Radiologists and over 200 staff, ensuring expert imaging and diagnosis. While the excellent clinical imaging and diagnosis is paramount, TRG Imaging also places a high premium on providing nothing less than outstanding customer service to our patients. Therefore, all TRG Imaging staff are regularly involved in customer training to continue to deliver the professional, yet compassionate, care expected of us. In order to strengthen the profession as a whole, we offer dedicated training positions in mammography, ultrasound and MRI.

Largest Private Provider in the North Island

We are the largest private multiple modality provider of radiology services in the North Island with 19 practices located in Auckland, Rotorua, Taupo, Hawke’s Bay and Gisborne, along with our joint venture service, Auckland Breast Centre. Several of these practices were established over 30 years ago.

Trusted by DHBs

We have been entrusted with contracts for various examinations from all the DHBs in our regions as well as ACC services. We also take part in public health initiatives, such as Breast Screen Aotearoa. Even though we are the largest private radiology group in the North Island, our workforce is notably customer centric, providing exceptional, caring service for our patients.

Wide Range of Services-Modern Machinery

We provide a wide range of diagnostic services, including X-ray, mammography, CT, MRI and ultrasound, within a caring and professional environment. Our current level of ultrasound scans are the highest in the company’s history offering a wide range of ultrasound examinations. We have a fleet of modern ultrasound machines, recently placing the single largest order of new ultrasound machines in New Zealand.

IANZ Accredited-PACS Savvy

TRG Imaging is an IANZ accredited company and TRG Imaging was one of the first radiology practices in the world to attain the ISO9002 standard. Our services are delivered via a group-wide communications network that supports patient files, security and access to images (RIS & PACS), which means you can go to any of our practices and your records are accessible.

Clinical Managing Director Dr Mike Baker MRCP, FRANZCR

Mike was Managing Director of The Radiology Group and contributed to the significant growth of the practice from three branches to more than 12 branches in the Auckland region. He was instrumental in setting up the MRI businesses based in North Shore Hospital in Auckland and at Northland Hospital in Whangarei.

Mike was involved in the set up of TRG Imaging, bringing together several well established regional radiology practices into one company in 2004. He has been Managing Director of TRG Imaging since its inception.

Mike is a practising radiologist and works in Auckland at TRG Imaging, Auckland Breast Centre and BreastScreen Waitemata Northland.

He is a director of several radiology related companies.
